Job Description

The account executive at MIS is an outside sales role, typically assigned to a local geographical market. The account executive will primarily be responsible and accountable for driving sales with a heavy emphasis on net new business.

The account executive will represent the Professional Services portfolio of products and services to prospective clients with a major focus on reoccurring support contracts (managed services). The prospects will include small and medium businesses in all industry segments. The account executive will be responsible for prospecting within their territory, developing solutions for clients and closing business. In addition, the account executive will be responsible for Customer Satisfaction and providing input to the business on customer and market needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting for new business
  • Work with Inside Sales to create and deliver proposals
  • Sell and close new business
  • Manage prospect expectations Meet or Exceed Quota
  • Update and track all opportunities in CRM
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager
  • Represent MIS in the marketplace

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly sales meetings to provide updates and feedback to management
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs
  • Responsible for entering all time and expenses in company CRM as it occurs

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 2-3 Years outside sales experience with selling any of the following: IT Services and Products, Managed IT Services, or IT Consulting
  • Experienced in “cold” prospecting
  • Proven track record of success
  • Small/medium company experience
  • Ability to call on C-Level executives/owners
  • Strong contact base and ability to convert to business
  • Excellent listening, writing, and presentation skills
  • High energy and drive with good negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
